This amazing Elvis Presley gift is one that's going make me do some research.  It was a gift for my 51st birthday which was September 24, the giver remains a mystery.

My friend Ryan Powell, received an Elvis portrait to give to me.  He'd mentioned it to me, he's had it for a few weeks.  Sunday evening I went to 'The Barn' where it was being stored and that's when he presented it to me.

The portrait is of a slender Elvis with a red scarf, probably late 60s early 70s.  It is done in pencil colors and framed in a simple black frame.  What's most interesting about this amazing gift, is what appears at the bottom.  Below the majestic picture of the world's most famous entertainer are these words, 'ELVIS PRESLEY MEMORIAL TRAUMA CENTER.  DEDICATED AUGUST 15, 1983.  A DIVISION OF THE REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER AT MEMPHIS.'  Elvis Presley passed away August 16,1977 at the age of 42, the cause of death is officially cardiac arrhythmia.  So the caption would make sense.

The question is, did this portrait actually hang in a hospital?  Is it an original?  And who gave it to me.  It passed through several hands before it made it's way to me.  The person who had it first remains a mystery.

Being an Elvis fan, this is a priceless gift.  To all who took the time and effort to get it to me, I thank you...thank you very much!
