March 20, 2012 With some areas still cleaning up from last week's rain and flooding, we are expecting more water in the next couple of days again. Local governments have made sandbags available in Lafayette, New Iberia and the surrounding areas.
March 19, 2012 Ranch Outlet and Courtesy Ford Lincoln are teaming up to aid in the disaster relief for victims of the recent flooding in Carencro and the surrounding areas. The community is encouraged to bring donations to Ranch Outlet off of I49 at Gloria Switch or Courtesy Ford Lincoln in Breaux Bridge, the official drop off locations for the Disaster Relief Supply Drive.
There is a frontal system moving through the Acadiana area, bringing with it the potential for severe weather. We will update this information as new alerts become available, so check back frequently for any new information regarding this weather system.

Forecasters in Miami are watching clouds and thunderstorms in the eastern Gulf of Mexico which are associated with a trough of low pressure. They are reporting that there is a 60% chance of development into a 'tropical cyclone' over the next couple of days.

One of Hurricane Irene‘s unfortunate structural victims this weekend was the 141-year-old Bartonsville Covered Bridge in Bartonsville, Vermont.
Before weakening to a tropical storm, the first hurricane of the season hit the Eastern seaboard with torrential rains, strong winds and floods.
Hurricane Irene made landfall on Saturday in North Carolina, moved northward along the coast then slammed into Little Egg Inlet, N.J., as a Category 1 storm. Despite predictions, Irene then lost steam as it lumbered toward New England.
Hurricane Irene is on her way and preliminary reports suggests she’ll be a big one. To get an idea of just how big though, check out this aerial video of Irene filmed from the International Space Station as it passed over the Eastern seaboard.
As Hurricane Irene nears the East coast, there’s been talk of evacuating below-sea-level areas from Florida all the way to New England. If you’ve got a fear of flooding, it’ll only be bolstered by this horrifying photo out of water-logged Puerto Rico. In the shot taken from a car, a shark can be clearly seen swimming down the highway, like something out of a terrible Samuel L. Jackson movie.
