For the third straight year, Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns and their fans are headed to New Orleans.

Despite their 31-28 loss to ULM Saturday, the Cajuns were invited and accepted a bid to the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl on Saturday, December 21, at 8pm at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

The opponent is yet to be named, but Tulane out of Conference USA seems to be the most likely selection.

New Orleans Bowl President and CEO Jay Cicero issued the official invitation in the Cajuns' locker room and the invitation was promptly accepted by Louisiana football coach Mark Hudspeth.

The Cajuns have been the champions of the last two trips to New Orleans, defeating San Diego State in 2011 and East Carolina in 2012.  Both games set New Orleans Bowl attendance records.
