The New Orleans Saints are reportedly about to offer the most lucrative contract in NFL history to their franchise quarterback, Drew Brees.

Mike Triplett of the Times Picayune says he'll be "stunned" if the deal falls apart now, with the deadline less than a week away. He's led the Saints to four playoff appearances, three division titles, two trips to the NFC Championship game, and a Superbowl Championship. He was named MVP of Superbowl XLIV.  Brees holds single season records
