In college, I roomed with a die hard Bob Dylan fan. I knew he was prolific, but had no realization of how many artists had hits with his songs. Dylan's career was in a resurgent stage with the releases of "Blood on the Tracks," "Desire," and the Rolling Thunder tour.  A severe 1966 motorcycle crash had resulted in several years of seclusion. Dylan's career has spanned more than 50 years. He's in the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame, the Songwriter's Hall of Fame among others. He's won an Emmy, an Oscar, a Pulitzer, and the Medal of Freedom . The BBC reports, Bob Dylan is now a Noble Laureate. It was announced Thursday he has won the Nobel Prize for literature. The formal presentation will be December 10th. Somewhere in Los Angeles, a man named Phil (my old roomie) is having trouble containing his excitement.
