Bob Dylan's career has spanned more than 50 years. Longevity in the music business is usually contingent upon versatility. Artists who write their own music generally have longer careers than ''song stylists." The list of artist's who've had hits with Dylan's songs is long, and varied, Manfred Mann, Olivia Newton John, George Harrison, Eric Clapton, U2, Jimi Hendrix and many more. That's why the news of Dylan's latest release being his interpretations of 10 Frank Sinatra standards caught me by surprise. "Shadows in the Night" was released February 3rd. Dylan said this on his website, "I don't see myself as covering these songs in any way. They've been covered enough. Buried, as a matter a fact. What me and my band are basically doing is uncovering them. Lifting them out of the grave and bringing them into the light of day.”
