For those who are in the woods in Louisiana, you should avoid this type of hole if you see it.

Many are out in the woods these days as hunting season is in full swing, and we want you to be aware of this potential threat.

According to a post on social media, a hole like this in the woods could be the perfect den for a black bear. Female bears will often get into holes like you see here to give birth, thus it would not be wise to impede just a hole.

Another great point made in the post on Facebook is that other wild animals may use such a hole for protection. Wild coyotes and even alligators could make their way into such holes and the last thing you'd want to do is aggravate an animal that may be in a hole like this.

So, if you do stumble across a hole like this while out in the woods avoid it and do not attempt to look into the hole.

As a matter of fact, it is probably best to always assume that the hole is occupied by a wild animal and you should go on your way.

One more thing, you should probably educate kids on this potential threat in the wooded areas. Often kids like to explore holes or sometimes even enter them to explore.

We most certainly do not want a kid(s) to be injured by a wild animal that may be occupying the space.

Here's the social media post that reminds all of us, especially hunters, to avoid these types of holes if you ever come across one while out hunting.
