Annual Gumbo/Chili Cookoff Today In Youngsville

The Youngsville Lions' Club and Knights Of Columbus Annual Gumbo/Chili Cookoff is taking place today!!

The tents are set up, the weather will be great, and the smell of great food will be filling the air at the Lion's Club Hall in Youngsville.  All proceeds from the event benefit the Lions' and KC clubs of Youngsville.

Festival goers will only have to pay a $5 donation, which garners you an All-You-Can-Sample status for the day, along with the free entertainment from Charlo & The Classic's and the Hydramatics!

Food (lots of it!), beverages (of the adult variety, too!) games and music, plus the smell of hot gumbo and chili hovering all around, what more does a Cajun festival need? You (and your friends/family!). Tomorrow, from 10 until 5:30 at the Youngsville KC/Lions Hall on Highway 92, across from Pat's Grocery. For more information, call 837-9993.

Oh, and by the way, rumor has it that JayCee will be cooking his soon-to-be world-class not-so-famous chili that day (and it WON'T be as pretty as the picture above!)  Come pass a good time!
