How much ice does it take to chill a 12-pack?  Here's one for you Louisiana...Science working for the people.

His name is Rhett Allain, he has a degree in physics, and he has used science to answer a very important question.  He used many different variations of thermodynamics.  After all of his calculations, he discovered that it takes 250 grams of ice per drink.  So how much ice does it take to chill a 12-pack?  Exactly 6.6 pounds of ice will cool a dozen beers or soda.

That means if you drink slowly, since ice is usually packaged in 10 pound bags, go for the 10 pounds of ice since some of the ice will melt.

Using this formula,  if you have 36 beers in a bucket, you have to make sure there is room for at least 20 pounds of it Ice.  Enjoy your summer!
