Your Music Really Does Suck

On one hand it's hard to imagine that 2014 will be the first year there will not be an album certified platinum which is an award bestowed by the RIAA for one million in sales.  On the other hand, with the lackluster quality of music these days, it makes sense.
The first certified platinum award was first given out in 1976.  This will be the first year the RIAA will not hand out the award.  You would think record labels would wise up and give the world music that appeals to the masses, maybe this will open their eyes.
There are two records that are nearest the million seller mark, Beyonce's self-titled album and Lorde's 'Pure Heroine'.  Neither one have even hit 800,000 in sales and sales of both albums are fading.  So chances are the two single-artist albums that are closest, have no change hitting a million in sales by the end of the year.
The music industry blames single song downloads and the stealing of music.
The music industry was late embracing the digital age and missed the boat.  Now they give us a lot of music we don't want to buy or even steal.  Sad, really really sad.
