Woman Arrested After Argument In New Iberia Turns Violent (UPDATED)

Daeshia Meeks has been arrested and booked into the Iberia Parish Jail on a charged of Aggravated Second Degree Battery.

The New Iberia Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that happened between two neighbors early this morning.

According to Captain John Babin, one woman produced a gun and shot another as the two were arguing.

This was all reported to officials at around 2:48 this morning.

The two were apparently having some type of disagreement when police says one woman shot the other one.

This all happened in the 1300 block of Twenty Arpent Road.

No one has been charged in connection with the case, but the investigation is ongoing.
