A friend asked me the other day where she could adopt a rescue puppy in Lafayette, and I was quick to point her to Cajun Paws Rescue.

Cajun Paws Rescue (CPR) is a non-profit 501c-3 organization in Lafayette run by volunteers to rescue animals.  Their main concentration is on pit bull mixes, but will try to help whichever animal they find in need.

Cajun Paws Rescue is in urgent need of foster and adoptive homes. Remember: when you foster for Cajun Paws Rescue, the process is free.  They will provide food and veterinary care when needed.  All you have to do is provide a (temporary) loving home until a permanent home is found.  Of course, if you can afford to provide food and vet care, it is much appreciated, as CPR would be able to direct those monies to save other dogs.

If at any time during the fostering process the host family decides that they want to adopt their foster dog, the process is easy.  They pay the adoption fees at that time, sign the paperwork, and it’ll be another foster success story (we love success stories!!)!
If you can adopt or foster, please do.  If you can’t, please share this post so that we can find someone who can.
