Wanted: Mermentau Man Holds His Ex-Wife Hostage

Acadia Parish Crime Stoppers is asking for the public's assistance in locating a Mermentau man who violently held his ex-wife hostage in her own home Monday.

Sheriff K.P. Gibson said an arrest warrant has been issued for 32-year-old Jordy Thibodeaux who entered his estranged ex-wife's home and held her against her will.

Gibson said Thibodeaux discharged a firearm, but no one was hit.

The suspect is wanted for the following charges:

• False Imprisonment
• Domestic Abuse Battery
• Aggravated Assault with a Dangerous Weapon

Thibodeaux is described as a white male, 6-feet tall, weighing 142 pounds. He currently has a beard and has brown hair with brown eyes.
