Video Of Ferry Running Aground

Here is a video of a ferry that has been in service for almost a quarter of a century, and it is intentionally run aground at a bone yard.

This was a controlled "beaching", as the ferry will be dismantled for parts and scrap.

Do you remember December 14, 1996, when a tanker got loose in the Mississippi River in New Orleans?  It was out of control of the crew, and it smashed into the River Walk, damaging it severely and sending several people to the hospital (illness and injuries from trying to escape the approaching vessel).

That accident was the "talk of the town" for several months!!
