Veteran’s Memorial At Duson Truck Stop

My friend Andree' Barra mentioned this veteran's memorial at the truck stop in Duson the other day, so I decided to go check it out.

As soon as you approach the memorial, called "Freedom Plaza, you can hear the patriotic music playing, and see the archway that reminds us of the sacrifices made to remain a free country.

The memorial is designed upon a star shape, with each branch of service represented at each point of the star.

A replica of the Statue of Liberty sits atop a pedestal engraved with the names of the brave men and women who have given their lives in defense of our country.

A statue of a bald eagle stands in front of a wall emblazoned with dedications to individuals who have served.

A great place to visit to teach our younger generation about what it takes to remain a free country.
