Clark Creek Waterfall Hike
So this one is a 2-hour drive from Lafayette, but well worth the trek (to take another trek)!
Clark Creek Nature Area in Pond, Mississippi, offers a great "daycation". Pack & Paddle puts this hike together, so you know it's going to be a good one!
From their Facebook page:
This is the place that always astounds first-time visitors. Two hours from Lafayette and your senses are filled by the sights, sounds and fresh fragrances of trails carved into steep moss-covered ravines that lead you to, over, or under four waterfalls. If you are quiet and patient, you could see chipmunks, marbled salamanders, and possibly birds of prey, or wild turkey. A unique wilderness, civilized by the beautifully constructed staircases and observation decks, but still possessing miles of undeveloped stream-beds surrounded by towering ridges.
