The New York Times and other media outlets are reporting that the Internal Revenue Service may be pushing back "tax day" in 2021.

Rather than having until April 15th to file your taxes, the Times reports that you may have till May 17th to file your taxes. Of course, if you can't file by then, filing an extension is an option.

Although no formal announcement has come from the I.R.S. a congressional aide says that the delay is intended to ease the burden on those dealing with the economic struggles during the COVID-19 pandemic.

If you recall, in 2020 we were given till mid-summer to file taxes, but this year we may only have an additional month to file taxes.

When a formal announcement from the I.R.S. is released, we will update the story here.
