A Child Support Magistrate in Tennessee ordered the change of a baby's name from "Messiah" to "Martin" during the parents' last name dispute.

The parents had decided upon the first name of "Messiah", but were arguing over the child's last name.  When the judge (who was to decide the last name) saw the child's first name, he ordered that changed, too.

The word Messiah is a title and it's a title that has only been earned by one person and that one person is Jesus Christ

The mother said that she like the way Messiah fit in with her other children's names, Mason and Micah.

The judge felt that the name "Messiah" could put the child at odds with many people in Cocke County, it having a large Christian population.

What are you feelings on this issue?
