Former Lafayette Police Deputy Chief Reggie Thomas is jumping into the race with candidates Duson Police Chief Kip Judice and suspended Lafayette City Marshal Brian Pope.

This veteran of the Air Force Reserve will make his resignation effective tomorrow.
