For the first time in a few years, my job didn't interfere with Festival International (I usually have emceeing gigs or remote broadcasts that prevent me from enjoying the festival).  Shannon and I couldn't make it there Wednesday night, but we were there Thursday through Sunday!

Carencro Catholic will host their Inaugural  Art Festival, Saturday April 21, beginning at 10am.  The festival will be held along St. Peter Street in Carencro, and will include an art walk, arts and crafts vendors, a cupcake decorating contest, bake sale, and a jambalaya cook-off.

You might not know his name, but you definitely know his work. Thomas Kinkade painted quaint scenes of cottages, cobblestone paths and warm, glowing windows, seemingly lit as an invitation to come inside. He had mass appeal that made him a household name and the target of disapproval from art critics. Kinkade passed away unexpectedly on Friday at the age of 54.
