(Eunice, Louisiana) - Construction is underway inside the Walmart store in Eunice, and locals are excited for what's to come.

No, they are not building a waterpark or go-kart track in the store; a new food option is coming to the busy store in St. Landry Parish.

In recent days, photos of the construction site inside the store have surfaced on Facebook, showing an area of the store tarped off as workers complete construction near the entrance.

Rumors on social media suggested that a Sushi Bar could be coming to the Walmart in Eunice, so I picked up the phone this week and called the store.

I asked the person who answered if a Sushi Bar was being built in the store, and he confirmed that fresh Sushi will soon be available in the Eunice Walmart store. He informed me that they've been working on it for a few weeks and that they are nearing completion.

While we don't have an exact date for when the Sushi Bar will open at the Eunice Walmart store, we do know from social media comments that locals are excited about this new option in the area.

Now, while a Sushi Bar in a Walmart store may sound odd for some, this isn't the first Sushi Bar to be built in Walmart. As a matter of fact, some who have had Sushi from other Walmart stores with the Sushi Bars already in them say that the Sushi is very good and always fresh.

LOOK: 5 Cajun Themed Emojis We Need On Our Phones in Louisiana

A couple of days ago, I wanted to use an emoji in a message that centered around the Cajun culture in Louisiana, and I was reminded that there is no emoji for what I was hoping to use.

After a few more searches for things we do or eat here, I learned that there are very few emojis in our smartphones that depict some of our favorites in South Louisiana.

Sure, we have all the emojis we need for sports, travel, weather, etc., but when it comes to activities and certain foods here in "Cajun Country," we are lacking many. Each year, Apple updates its list of emojis, so perhaps after this post, they may be inclined to add a few that represent Cajun Culture.

Here are a few emojis we need on our phones that represent our lifestyle in South Louisiana.
