Security Employee Wounded Following Shooting at The District Nightclub in Lafayette
One person was wounded following an overnight shooting at The District nightclub in Lafayette.
According to KATC TV-3, police were working security in the parking lot and heard the gunshots, which were fired inside the club. However, in the confusion created by the panicked club-goers, the suspect was not identified.
The incident happened shortly before 1:30 am at the club located on Johnston Street.
The wounded person was only identified as a 26-year-old male security employee of the business. He sustained a non life-threatening injury and as of this morning was listed in stable condition at a local hospital.
Police have interviewed several employees but so far the shooter has not been identified.
