Royal Caribbean Cancels Cruise To Send Aid To Puerto Rico
I think most of us agree government can be unwieldy. The Federal response to the devastation in Puerto Rico has, for whatever reason, been slow. A major cruise line has stepped up to the plate to help with relief efforts. The Miami Herald reports Royal Caribbean Cruise lines has cancelled a cruise aboard the Adventure of the Seas to load the vessel with supplies and ship them to the Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. The Plan also calls for the 3,100 passenger ship to assist in evacuation efforts. Given the likely average expenditure for a cruise of $1,000 per person (Probably a low ball figure), Royal Caribbean stands to lose more than 3 million dollars. That's before computing the cost of relief supplies.
