A former New Orleans postal worker has reportedly admitted opening mail, stealing money, and gift cards. The New Orleans Advocate reports 30 year old Courtney Duplessis has pled guilty to federal charges after being caught in a sting operation. Postal customers in New Orleans, and Harahan complained they weren't receiving their mail. Authorities planted a $15 Target gift card, and Duplessis took the bait. They repeated the procedure several more times, and built their case. Tampering with U.S. Mail is a federal offense. Duplessis faces a fine, and up to 5 years in prison.
