After spending the weekend in jail, R. Kelly has been released after posting $100,000 in bail.

The R&B star turned himself in on Friday (February 22), after being charged with sexually assaulting four women, three of which were minors. He's facing a 10-count indictment and is expected back in court on March 22.

The 52-year-old's lawyer Steve Greenberg has said his client is "an innocent man," adding, "I think all the women are lying."

"He's a rock star, he doesn't have to have nonconsensual sex," Greenberg said. "We're going to look at the evidence and see where it takes us."

The prosecutor, Michael Avenatti, had a few words to say about Greenberg's comments over the weekend. "Memo to Steve Greenberg, who earlier today stated that R. Kelly may have had "consensual sex" with the underage girls identified in the indictment: 14, 15, and 16 yr old girls cannot legally "consent" in Illinois," he tweeted. "Meaning its sexual assault/rape. Who is this guy?"

Kelly's bail was originally set at $1 million—$250,000 for each victim—but was able to post 10% to be released from jail prior to trial. Each of the charges carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. Though out of jail, the singer has been instructed not to contact any of the victims, witnesses, or anyone under the age of 18 and was ordered to forfeit his passport and any firearms in his possession.
