Attorneys for the family of Quawan Charles say a toxicology report that's part of an independent autopsy suggest there was foul play involved in the teenage boy's death and that it was not accidental.

According to The Advocate, the family released the findings on Tuesday. It's been over two months since 15-year-old Quawan Charles of Baldwin was found dead by Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office Patrol Deputies and a law enforcement drone on November 3 near Loreauville in a sugarcane field.

The family says they were told Charles drowned, so they sought an independent autopsy. The toxicology report in it says there were low levels of THC and ethanol in his system, likely meaning he used marijuana and alcohol before dying. The family says this proves wrong the theory that Charles was high on hallucinogenic mushrooms when he died, according to The Advocate.
