What's the big idea?

Out with the Nintendos, in with the plus-size pants! Wal-Mart stores are reducing the size of the electronics departments to make room for more plus-size clothing. Probably not a bad idea, seeing as a new study found that almost 35% of Americans are obese!  Techies, don’t fret- company officials say Wal-Mart will still carry the same amount of inventory in the electronics area as before.  They actually don’t need as much space as they once did, now that iPads and smartphones have replaced giant flat-screen TVs as the big sellers.  In related news, a British study found that young girls’ waistlines have expanded by nearly four inches in the last 30 years.  The average 11-year-old has about a 28-inch waist, compared with 23 inches in the late 1970s.  Health officials say it’s a worrying sign that obesity, especially among women and children, is still on the rise.  At least they’ll have somewhere to shop!
