What Every Parent Needs to Do For Fesitval International in 2027

(Lafayette, Louisiana) - Festival International 2026 has come and gone, and now, like many of you, we are already looking forward to Festival next year in Downtown Lafayette.

While we were at the festival this year, I noticed a number of families enjoying the music, the food, and the entertainment all over downtown, and then I heard something while some parents were sitting there watching their kids play.

I overheard a parent say, "Next year we are coming one day without the kids so that we can enjoy our day." A light bulb went off when I heard that great suggestion come from the parent, and I will explain why.

As parents sat there watching their kids play in one of the parks in Downtown Lafayette, I could sense that they felt like they were wasting time when they could be enjoying themselves at a stage or at a local bar with friends.

Sure, as parents, we all love spending time with our kids, but there does come a time when you just need "a break", and what better place than at Festival International when so much is going on?

So, I suggest that next year you and your significant other enjoy a day at Festival with your kids, but then reserve a day for some "adult time." By not having your kids with you at the festival, you'll be able to visit more stages, frequent bars where friends may be, and just walk around and enjoy the day without having to constantly look out for your kids.

After all, we all serve a day to enjoy the Festival. So, to the parent I heard say that next year they aren't bringing their kids to Festival International, thank you for the insight. I thoroughly agree that parents need a day for themselves, especially on a gorgeous weekend, much like the one we just had in Acadiana.

When is Festival International in 2027

Festival International is scheduled to happen in Downtown Lafayette on April 21 - 25 of 2027. Therefore, pick your "adult day" and scchedule a babysitter now so that you can enjoy everything Festival has to offer, without the kids by your side.

On a side note, let me echo what The Lafayette Animal Shelter and Care Center suggested too---Leave your pets at home. Not only do you have to care for them, but, like kids, they can also prohibit you from entertaining in some places during your visit downtown.

You deserve a break.
