#Only In Louisiana – Rain Postpones NBA Game
In the world of "Only in" conversations, Louisiana has got be leading the entire country in bizarre occurrences. Maybe it's the gris gris of our beloved home state or maybe we just have bad luck or shady contractors because the most recent "Only in Louisiana" moment happened at a New Orleans Pelicans game.
I should say it happened at the Smoothie King Center where the New Orleans Pelicans were supposed to play basketball. The Indiana Pacers were in town for an NBA contest by Mother Nature was having none of that.
Rain and wind blowing into the Crescent City helped water find its way through the roof of the Smoothie King Center and on to the basketball court. Officials first delayed the contest while crews took to the floor to clean up the mess. When they realized that the rain was still winning, they just called the game.
In typical New Orleans fashion, the social media site Twitter exploded with some outstanding observations about rain, basketball, and Mardi Gras.
By the way, the game will be made up at sometime during the season. Those who held tickets for last night's postponed game can exchange them for a refund or for entry to the arena when the game is reset.
