An overnight shooting on the campus of Grambling State University has left multiple people wounded, including a police officer.

The university says the shooting took place around 1:30am at the Hobdy Assembly Center. There were two victims, including an individual who does not attend the school and a responding police officer.

KTBS reports that the Louisiana State Police say the non-student victim was shot twice, and the responding officer was shot in the leg. The officer is described as having non life-threatening injuries, while the other victim was air-lifted to Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport due to serious injury.

The suspect is still on the loose. Authorities believe the suspect left the Grambling campus, and do not believe there is any current threat to the students and faculty at the school, or even the general public.

The Louisiana State Police and Lincoln Parish Sheriff's Office are continuing to investigate the situation.
