(Baton Rouge, Louisiana) - Southern University's Nursing School has done it again, they were informed of another great honor.

Nurses are so important to the medical industry, and if you speak to anyone in the medical field, they will tell you that there's still a need for good nurses. And let's be honest, when you're in a hospital, it's often nurses who take the best care of you or a loved one.

Well, in Louisiana, we have some great nursing schools for those ready to assist the ill, and for the second year in a row, the BEST nursing school in the country is in Louisiana.

According to Nurse.org, the Southern University Nursing School in Baton Rouge is the best school in the country. What a huge honor, and if it sounds familiar, well, that's because this is the second consecutive year the school has received this prestigious honor.

WAFB reports that while the school on Southern University's campus is celebrating its 40th year, it is always expanding. The nursing school is expanding through a new 69,000-square-foot building funded by Our Lady of the Lake and Women’s Hospital. Each donated $5 million, which the State of Louisiana will match.

Other schools nominated for the honor were: Capella University, Chamberlain University College of Nursing, Emory University Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing, and the Lunder CareForce Institute.

We want to congratulate Southern University's Nursing School on receiving this great honor, and we know they will continue the great work. Now, we just wait to see if they can 3-Peat the honor.
