(WWL New Orleans) WWL in New Orleans has obtained a memo from ASM Global, the company that manages the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans addressing what will be the new COVID-19 guidelines when the facility opens to full capacity.

Completed in 1975, the Superdome is currently undergoing another major renovation and is expected to host the first full 100% capacity event in July. But ASM Global is calling the shots and you must obey the guidelines to get inside and stay inside.

Until further notice, when ASM Global opens any event in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome to a 100% sellable ticket situation, everyone in attendance will be required to wear a mask. That means everyone entering the building holding a ticket, all employees, vendors, technical personnel, etc. There will be no debating at the entrance about not wearing a mask and no taking it off once you get inside. If you enter the dome for an event that is selling every seat in the house, you will wear a mask. The same goes for the Smoothie King Arena also managed by ASM Global. The only time patrons will be allowed to remove their masks is when actively eating or drinking.

WWL is reporting, however, that New Orleans Mayor Cantrell's office is saying not everyone may be required to wear a mask.

The way you get to a hundred percent capacity is everybody's wearing a mask, and/or they can provide proof of vaccination or a recent negative test. -Mayor Cantrell's Office

Monster Jam, Saturday, July 31 will welcome back event-goers to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome for the first time since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. The high octane show is proud to be returning to Louisiana and proud to be the first 100% capacity event back in the Superdome.
