First there was Jackie O, nee Kennedy. Now? There's Michelle O. And not since Jackie has a First Lady's fashion sense and style been this discussed.

Mrs. Obama nails it nearly every time, and at tonight's (Jan. 21) 2013 Presidential Inaugural Ball, she was a vision of loveliness in a chiffon and velvet Jason Wu gown in ruby red with a plunging back, cinched waist and delicate pleating.

Michelle wore a Wu gown to the 2009 inauguration as well, which catapulted him into fame -- so this was the second time the First Lady chose one of his creations for such a momentous occasion. (And again, he was surprised.)

She paired the dress with Jimmy Choo heels, a handmade diamond embellished ring by Kimberly McDonald and a stack of bracelets on one (very toned) arm. Given the statement neckline, the First Lady didn't need any baubles around her neck. Oh, and like her husband, we love the bangs. They work with the shaggy cut and frame her gorgeous face.

You can see the full scope of the sweeping skirt and how it lays as she descends the staircase with an assist from that A-list arm candy known as the President.

The crimson shade and the shimmer of the fabric pops against her mocha skin. She is easily the best-dressed belle of this ball.

She looks so good that the leader of the free world doesn't want to let her go. We don't blame him.
