The holidays and specifically immediately following the holidays are a particularly tough time for animal shelters.

Many times, families purchase dogs from breeders for Christmas only to realize that the dogs aren't a good fit for the home. So, they send them to an animal shelter that is most likely already full.

To raise awareness of the many dogs that are in need of finding a forever home, magician John Stessel performed magic tricks for some pups that are at the animal shelter.
