(Lafayette, Louisiana) - Another line of severe thunderstorms could soon impact the Acadiana region.

This Spring season has brought several rounds of severe weather to Acadiana, which have produced tornadoes and even severe flooding.

Well, it looks like another line of severe thunderstorms has Acadiana on it's target and we could see the worst of the storms just as you're attempting to get the kids to school or yourself to work.

Chris Cozart of KLFY News 10 shared the HRRR weather model, and it shows storms pushing through the area early Thursday morning, while other models don't show much. That means we will need to stay weather-aware early Thursday morning, and if there's any threat to our area, we will share that with you via this station's mobile app.

If storms do move into Acadiana Thursday morning, we would be on the low end for severe weather, which still could produce flash flooding in areas prone to flooding.

Again, we will watch the radar, and if there's any immediate threat to Acadiana, we will relay all information here and on-air.

Here's a look at the extended forecast for Acadiana, and as you can see below, we are about to enter into a more active forecast as we approach the end of the week.

The good news is that a cool front could lower the humidity levels here by Sunday evening and into early Monday morning.
