Louisiana OMV Will No Longer Accept Cash

Baton Rouge – Effective Nov. 1, 2016, the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles will not accept cash for transactions. Beginning November 1, 2016, acceptable forms of payment for transactions will be as follows:

Driver’s Licenses, Identification Cards, & Mobility Impaired Hang Tag Transactions:
· Debit cards, credit cards, checks, money orders, and cashier checks

Reinstatement Transactions
· Debit cards, credit cards, money orders, and cashier checks

Vehicle Transactions
· Debit cards, credit cards, checks, money orders, and cashier checks

This policy will also apply when our business partners purchase items from the Office of Motor Vehicles.
