As I was leaving the airport early Sunday morning, I saw a company of Louisiana National Guard troops marching along Surrey Street.  I thought that I would give you a glimpse into the military world.

It appears that some of the troops are new recruits (due to the lack of uniform dress).  Some were dressed in day-to-day camouflage, others were dressed in their Army PT, and others had civilian PT uniforms.  All of them were dressed with patriotism and determination.

Thank you to those men and women who volunteer to serve, protecting our country from its enemies, both foreign and domestic.

If you see a veteran of any capacity (retired, did-their-time-and-got-out, or still serving), please take a moment to shake their hand, extend a verbal thanks, and buy them lunch if you have the opportunity.
