Louisiana Dads Against Pedophiles Help Police Catch a Suspect

The director of Louisiana Dads Against Pedophiles has been working undercover, and in an exclusive with KLFY TV-10, he allowed them to go with him to meet a 52-year-old man who thought he was going to meet a 14-year-old girl.

Director Joseph Black was communicating with 52-year-old Darin Deshotels of Lafayette, and he was pretending to be a fourteen-year-old girl.

Some of the conversations shown to Channel 10 by Black between Deshotels and the "14-year-old girl" are frightening. Black it was Deshotels who contacted him to start these conversations.

Black showed KLFY messages allegedly from Deshotels that read the following:

We just have to be on the downlow and slick about our relationship until you're seventeen. We have to be careful, and Deshotels lets Amana know....'I can't ever get your pregnant."

KLFY was in the parking lot listening along when Deshotels showed up at a Waffle House restaurant to meet "Amanda". The man sat there for a while until Joseph Black got up from his seat at the Waffle House and sat down at Deshotels table to speak with him and let him know "Amanda" was never going to shop up.

Deshotels claimed to Black that he tried "to do the right thing" by telling the girl to stay in school and get her GED. As the conversation continued, officers with the Lafayette Police Department arrested Deshotels.

On Friday morning, September 22, the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office Daily Arrest Report details Deshotels' arrest information, and the information is as follows:

Information from the Sheriff's Department shows Deshotels is still incarcerated in the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.
