Club-Goers Dancing Outside of Historic Louisiana Nightclub in The 80s

There was once a time in South Louisiana when club-goers went out and danced until the sun came up, then did it again over and over.

If you speak to anyone who hit the club scene in the mid-to-late 80s, they'll tell you that going out was a lifestyle and that people went out to have fun.

Back in the day, there was no standing around while in the club, after all, social media wasn't even a thought, and shooting a video to go viral was on no one's agenda while out in a club.

Luckily for those in the Lafayette, Louisiana area, nightclubs in the 80s were an attraction and people from across the southern region flocked to the area to dance and party until the sun came up.

Clubs like the Kingfish, Mako's, and Club Spirtz had the music and they had the energy that attracted thousands weekly. Many of these clubs also had featured shows on the radio and what was played in the club was broadcast across the airwaves.

This in itself attracted many to the clubs, and as you'll see below, the party at times stretched to the outside of these clubs.
