Louisiana Citizens Need to Check For Dangerous Igloo Cooler
Igloo is recalling more than 1 million of its popular rolling coolers sold across the U.S., Mexico, and Canada.
The reason for this massive cooler recall is due to a hazard with the handle on the cooler that has resulted in a handful of fingertip injuries. In a few cases, people have lost their fingertips due to the danger presented by one particular Igloo cooler.
The ice chest under recall is the “Igloo 90 Qt. Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers.” The handle can pinch your hand against the cooler, thus causing serious bodily injuries.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission reports that Igloo has received 12 injury reports in the U.S. due to the handle on this cooler. The injuries reported included fingertip amputations, bone fractures, and lacerations.
Now, if you have the Igloo 90 Qt. Flip & Tow Rolling Cooler you are urged to stop using the cooler immediately and to contact Igloo so that a replacement handle can be sent to you.
According to the recall, the coolers causing injuries to hands were sold in places like Costco, Target, Dick’s, and Amazon between 2019 and January 2025. The coolers under this recall were sold in various coolers and the word "Igoo" is printed on the side.
If you have this particular cooler in your possession you should call 888-943-5182 or send an email to igloo90qt@sedgwick.com to request a new handle, which comes free of charge.
