Louisiana Bracing for Another Round of Severe Thunderstorms
Another cool front is approaching South Louisiana, but severe thunderstorms are in front of the cold air.
Early Friday morning much of central and north Louisiana was impacted by storms with tornadoes embedded in them, and we could see the same on Saturday, December 28th.
You will certainly want to be "weather-aware" to start the weekend as another line of storms approaches the state.
If you're in central Louisiana or the northern portions of Acadiana, you could experience storms that may produce small tornadoes or hail Saturday afternoon and into Saturday night.
Currently, much of Acadiana could be in the Level 3 Risk out of 5 on Saturday. Unfortunately, we may experience the worst of the weather once the sun goes down this Saturday.
Again, make sure you have this station's mobile app on your phone so that you and your family can remain informed as the potential weather moves closer to your area in Acadiana.
The good news is we should see much better weather, and much cooler weather, as we ring in the year 2025.
Take a look at the potential rainfall though Saturday afternoon and into the evening.
