Local Teacher Uses Notorious Serial Killer’s Artwork As Classroom Decoration – Here’s Why [Photo]

I saw this photo making the rounds on Facebook. It's of a door on the outside of a classroom at a high school here in the Acadiana area.

The photo is an exact replica of the painting that John Wayne Gacy did while he was on death row of himself as Pogo the Clown.

My first thought was, "Could this person just not have known what this clown image was when they put it up?" However, you'll notice the sign reads, "Pogo says..." That lends itself to the fact that whoever put this up knows exactly who this clown is.

Then I thought, "Were they just trying to slip it by thinking no one would notice?" Gacy was arrested in 1978, so there's a chance that at least students might not get the reference.

There's also the fact that Metairie based sludge metal heroes Acid Bath used this exact painting for arguably their best album, "When the Kite String Pops" in 1994, the same year that Gacy was executed by lethal injection. That brought the Gacy lore back into the mainstream, at least around our region.

THEN, I had the thought of, "What if this is a psychology class, or something of the like?" While still creepy as all hell, it would make a little more sense. It turns out, that's more along the lines of what was really going on.

From what people are claiming, the class is a Forensic Science, or CSI type class at the school.

I was also informed that as of today (8/3), Pogo no longer adorns the door.

If you're not familiar with John Wayne Gacy, you can read up on him, as well as his heinous crimes that include sodomy, sexual assault, indecent liberties with a child, and 33 counts of murder.
