Lafayette Police Investigate Sunday Night Shooting

Details are few as the case is very new, but Lafayette Police have confirmed they were called to the scene of a shooting in the city about 8 pm last night. Reports suggest that the shooting took place in the area of Bayberry Point Apartments on Jessica Street.

The shooting location was based on eyewitness reports at the scene. Police have not confirmed that aspect of the case. However, they did confirm that an investigation was underway and that further details about the case would be forthcoming.

Eyewitnesses did report a significant police presence at the scene but so far details on a victim or victims or the arrests of suspects have not been released.
