Lafayette Police Department Officers Investigating Bank Robbery

Lafayette Police officers are at the scene of the First Horizon Bank on Moss Street.

Police Department Spokeswoman Robin Green says they are investigating an armed robbery.

Green says a male walked into the bank at around 9 o'clock Tuesday morning right after it opened. The man handed a teller a note demanding money.

He claimed he had a bomb in a bag so she would do as he asked.

Green says they do know that the suspect, in this case, was able to flee the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.
