A Lafayette girl is giving up her birthday gifts to help animals.  This little girl's name is Ella and she just so happens to be one of my cutest and sweetest friends. Oh, and I might add the BIGGEST little Ragin Cajun fan ever. When Ella Conrad heard about a little girl who wanted to help animals in the area by giving up her birthday gifts, she was so inspired and immediately told her mom that she wanted to do the same thing for her birthday this year.  Ella is asking those who would normally get her a gift to get her bags of dog food instead so she could deliver them to a local no-kill animal shelter.  Stacy Conrad, Ella’s mom, said that Ella told them she didn’t want them to spend money on a birthday party but instead she wanted them to spend that money on dog or cat food or Pet Smart gift cards.

Stacy said now is the time she would be booking and planning her party, so instead she is sharing Ella’s birthday wish with Acadiana in hopes that others may want to help too. If you would like to help Ella reach her goal, she is accepting dog and cat food, gift cards to Pet Smart or Petco, and monetary donations that she can use to buy things the shelters could use.  Stacy said they are willing to pick up anything you donate, wherever you are.  Little Ella is hoping her birthday wish gets shared around Acadiana because she is only collecting through the end of February and plans to deliver all the items during the first week of March. How do you reach Ella and her mom, Stacy? You can message them on Facebook or you can email them at pandsconrad@gmail.com.

Ella says thank you for helping to make the life of an animal better and for helping her to have the best birthday ever! By the way, her birthday is March 10th and she will be 9 years old.

Happy 9th Birthday, Ella!
