Another retail location of a nationwide chain is closing its Lafayette location. Lafayette's Dressbarn location will be shuttered by the end of August. The company announced Friday that the Lafayette closure would be part of the next phase of shutting down all Dressbarn locations by the end of the year.

Dressbarn's parent company, Ascena Retail Group, had announced plans earlier in the year for the brand to "wind-down".  That wind-down started with the closing of 25 stores last month.

Then came the announcement of an additional 53 stores that would be closed in July or August. The Lafayette location in the River Marketplace, as well as locations in Lake Charles and Shreveport, were on the list for closure in August.

There are also Dressbarn locations in Baton Rouge and New Orleans. There has been no date announced for when those properties would cease operations.
