
Lafayette Deputy Finds Stolen Items on His Commute Home
(99.9 KTDY) - A load of lumber and a trailer were stolen earlier this month, and a Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Deputy was able to locate the stolen property while he was driving home from work.
What's Known About The Theft?
According to officials with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office, a complaint was received by the Sheriff's Department on Saturday, August 23, after someone reported that a trailer full of lumber had been stolen from their property.
The case was discussed on the Lafayette Crime Stoppers Facebook page in hopes of identifying the responsible party.

An Off-Duty Lafayette Sheriff's Deputy Was Going Home
A report was taken, and an investigation began to determine who was responsible for bringing the lumber and trailer.
On Tuesday, August 26, a deputy who was on his way home happened to spot the items.
Real Time Crime Center Agents and deputies quickly confirmed these were the items stolen from the 300 block of Sidney Martin Road near its intersection with Rim Road.
The trailer and lumber are worth several thousand dollars.
Who Was Arrested?
According to the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office, 39-year-old John Overton Young was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on a charge of theft.
