Joe Diffie Dead at 61 Due to Complications Related to COVID-19
It was just reported on Friday that the singer had recently tested positive for coronavirus. He had been under the care of medical professionals and receiving treatment.
At the time Diffie said in a statement: "My family and I are asking for privacy at this time."
"We want to remind the public and my fans to be vigilant, cautious and careful during this pandemic," he added.
A native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Diffie had one of the most unique voices in country music. His very first single in 1990 entitled "Home" reached the top of the charts.
He would go on to have five #1 hits and 12 others reach the top 10. He also co-wrote singles for Tim McGraw, Jo Dee Messina and Holly Dunn.
Over the years the Grand Ole Opry star put out seven studio albums, a Christmas album and a greatest hits album.
We sure are going to miss you Joe.
