Jim Nabors, ‘Gomer Pyle’ Star Has Passed Away At 87
Sad news to report out of Hollywood. Jim Nabors, better known as the lovable, goofy "Gomer Pyle" has died. Nabors was 87-years-old.
Nabors died Today in Hawaii. His personal assistant Charisse Gines confirmed for USA TODAY.
His husband, Stan Cadwallader tells USA TODAY "Everybody knows he was a wonderful man. And that's all we can say about him. He's going to be dearly missed."
Jim Nabors was best known for his role as the lovable Marine in the title role of Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C., a CBS hit comedy during during the show's five-season run in the 1960s.
Pyle's trademark phrases “Well, Golllll-ly!” and “Shazam!” are known to millions, even in 2017.
