One of our coworkers, John "JayCee" Falcon, along with the whole Falcon Family, puts on the 'jeep jaunt' each year to raise money for the American Lung Association.

KATC TV3's Scott Brazda had a sit-down with JayCee recently to find out more about the 'jeep jaunt' and why the family does what it does.

My coworkers and I can't stress how proud we are of JayCee and his family's efforts to give back to the community.

The 'jeep jaunt' is in its 12th year, having raised over $500,000 for the cause, along with raising awareness of lung disease.

You can help them reach their goal of eradicating lung disease, and have fun at the same time by helping with the 'jeep jaunt', either by participating in the event, donating auction/door prize items, or just making a donation to the American Lung Association in the event's name.

This year's event rolls Sunday, October 22, 2017, rain or shine. We asked JayCee about the chance of rain, and he replied:

The 'jaunt' will roll rain or shine. If it rains for registration, we'll move it inside Celebrity Theatres (which they've done in the past, we understand). If the law enforcement officials with whom we consult on the day of the even deem conditions not favorable for the convoy, we will "release" the participants from the parking lot in sorties of 15-20, from 4 different exits. Once we get to Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel, the event is indoors. The success of the event is not dependant on the weather. Actually, a few years ago there was a torrential downpour, and it was one of our most successful years! - John "JayCee" Falcon, event organizer

Partners in the event include Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel,  Sterling Jeep, KATC TV3, Celebrity Theatres and Townsquare Media.

Many companies have stepped up to contribute to the event, including Searcher's 4WD Supply and Outfitters, Smokey Hebert's Snap-On Tools, Hulco Printers, Mezco Fabricators, Todd's DJ Entertainment Services, Don's Auto Accessories, NuNu's Fresh Market, Savage Offroad, and so many more.

Kudos to our coworker; this world could use more people like the Falcon Family!
